At a recent Howardforums/ Mobilicity Vancouver meet CEO Dave Dobbin took the time to answer quiet a few questions regarding Mobilicity and the Canadian Wireless industry in general. His answers were quiet insightful and straightforward.
Video and comments after the break…
A few interesting highlights include:
- More phones coming soon. New blackberries, some android and feature phones. No dual core phones at the moment sadly.
- No new markets are opening soon. They will be focusing on improving tower density and signal in existing markets.
- When asked about the iPhone Dave said that unless it is coming to T-mobile it isn’t happening and even then the question is would they want to carry it. Due to little to no subsides/contracts the iPhone would likely be very expensive for Mobilicity customers.
- SMS short codes are staring to be implemented. Twitter is up and running. TTC not yet.
- No Plans for an LTE network.
